A prominent, bumpy, or asymmetric nose can lead many men and women becoming very self-consicous. For this reason rhinoplasty has become on of the most popular procedures in plastic surgery. This surgery can reduce the size of your nose, or change the size or shape of the tip, bridge, or nostrils. Work can also be performed to correct nose-related breathing, and this procedure otherwise is known as a septoplasty.

The first step to going forth with this procedure is to come in for a consult. At that time you will meet directly with our specialist, Dr. Lloyd Krieger. He will evaluate you and go over what the best options will be for you. All of our surgeries are done in our own certified surgery center. You will arrive in the morning. The surgery usually takes about two hours. More complicated surgeries may take three hours or more. After surgery you will go to our recovery room. There the nurse will take care of you for about an hour and half. You are then able to return home. You must have someone drive you home after your surgery and stay with you that night.

It is important that when you get home you keep your head elevated. It is also important that you walk around and drink plenty of fluids. You will need to take about a week off from work. Two to three days after surgery you are able to return to light activity. There will be some swelling and stiffness for several weeks. It will also take several weeks before the nose is completely healed to allow full physical activity.
