Los Angeles Rhinoplasty

Have you been thinking about a rhinoplasty in Los Angeles? You have the right place to have all of your questions answered. We are here to help you get all the information you need to make an informed decision.

Los Angeles Rhinoplasty
Actual Los Angeles rhinoplasty patient, results may vary

A nose that is cosmetically unattractive or does not fit with other facial features or has an abnormal appearance due to injury, birth defects, or disease may be recontoured during a Los Angeles rhinoplasty. The best candidates for a nose procedure are those that are seeking improvement and not perfection. This is the same as for any cosmetic procedure.

Correction of breathing problems can also be done during the same procedure. The nasal size may be reduced or increased, the nostrils may be widened, and the shape of the tip or the bridge may be changed. The first step to going about this procedure is to meet with our nasal surgery specialist surgeon. At that time you will be able to discuss the concerns that you have.

The surgery is done under general anesthesia. It is usually performed as an outpatient surgery. The surgery will take two to three hours. Incisions will be made inside the nostrils. The nasal bones, cartilage, and soft tissues are reshaped to improve the external contour. You will then go to the recovery room where you will stay for another two hours.

You may not drive yourself home. Someone must drive you home and stay with you that night. You may have a splint in place on the skin of the nose. The splint is usually removed five to seven days following surgery. Once you return home it is very important that you keep your head elevated, even while you are sleeping. Swelling and bruising will take two to four weeks to subside. It is important following surgery that you walk around. You will need to take five to seven days off from work.
